Programme Synopsis

For the first time, STEP Singapore and STEP Malaysia collaborate to organise a day trip to Johor, Malaysia for a dialogue session and visit to Forest City.

This focused full day programme features 2 panel discussions on cross border structuring issues affecting wealth management practitioners in both Singapore and Malaysia, an update on the recently announced Special Financial Zone incentives in Forest City Johor and its relevance for family offices, as well as updates on recent tax and legal developments across Singapore and Malaysia. 

The trip will round off with an introduction and tour of Forest City Johor.

Participants from Singapore are strongly encouraged to take the coach service that will be arranged by STEP Singapore.

Staying up to date is not just about compliance—it’s about seizing opportunities for growth and wealth preservation in a bid to ensure long-term financial success and longevity.

In this session, our speakers will provide an overview of recent tax and legal developments from both Singapore and Malaysia. In our second panel session we will explore the trust and estate planning options from the two jurisdictions, their strengths, and the potential pitfalls to watch out for when advising clients on cross-Causeway estate structuring.
