General

SCTP is known as 新加坡特许税务专业人士协会 in Mandarin.
SCTP continually explores new programmes, initiatives and strategic partnerships to enhance the benefits and privileges of all accredited tax professionals in order to stand out from competition and be recognised by the profession, the wider business community and the international audience. Tax professionals may be recognised as an Accredited Tax Advisor, Accredited Tax Practitioner and
Accredited Tax Practitioner (Provisional) in any of two specialisations (Income Tax or GST) or both.

If it is your first time logging in, simply enter your email, and click ‘Sign In’ without keying in any password.
Thereafter, an auto email will be sent to you at the email address you had previously provided SCTP with and in receipt of the weekly communique to members. Simply follow the instructions in it to activate your online account which then gives you one-stop access to various exclusive resources.

Accreditation Application

SCTP welcomes any enquiries. To avoid disappointment, please make an appointment first. Please contact SCTP's Membership team at +(65) 6360 5960 (E: enquiry@sctp.org.sg).

Our office hours are Mondays to Fridays (except Public Holidays) 9am – 12.30pm and 1.30 – 6pm. The first appointment is at 9am and the last appointment is 5.30pm. The office is opened for half a day in the morning on the eves of Christmas, New Year and Chinese New Year.

Yes. Tax professionals may, for example, apply to be an Accredited Tax Advisor (Income Tax) and Accredited Tax Practitioner (GST). Please click here for the accreditation criteria.

All applications are reviewed by the SCTP Accreditation Committee and approved by the Board in batches once every two to three months. Only complete applications with relevant supporting documents will be reviewed.

Accreditation Criteria

No. If you possess any of the recognised qualifications but do not currently have sufficient relevant experience, you may wish to apply to be an Accredited Tax Practitioner (Provisional) in order to be updated on the latest developments in the tax landscape and enjoy the benefits of accreditation. To apply, simply click here.

Once you have obtained sufficient relevant experience, simply submit your application for an upgrade to Accredited Tax Practitioner here.
Most certainly. You may apply to be accredited once you have passed the (i) ACCA "Taxation (TX)" and "Advanced Taxation (ATX)" modules" (Singapore variant) or (ii) CPA Australia's Singapore Taxation examination.

If you have three years of tax experience, you may apply to be an Accredited Tax Practitioner (Income Tax).

If you do not possess sufficient relevant working experience yet, you may apply to be an Accredited Tax Practitioner (Provisional).

Supporting Documents for Accreditation

Where possible, please provide a copy of your testimonial for each of your job experience. Alternative documents are letters of service or employment letters. Please note that the processing period may be delayed if the supporting documents are not in order.

In addition, where relevant, certified true copies of recognised examination qualifications are also required.

Applicants whose employers are registered with SCTP under the Accredited Employer Scheme* (AES) need not submit character referees.

*Companies (and members of their group) under AES currently include: BDO Singapore, Baker Tilly TFW, Deloitte & Touche, Ernst & Young Singapore, Foo Kon Tan, Grant Thornton, Inland Revenue Authority of Singapore, KPMG, RT LLP, Moore Stephens, CLA Global TS Holdings Pte. Ltd. (formerly Nexia TS), PwC Singapore and RSM Singapore.

Upgrade of Accreditation

To upgrade your accreditation, simply follow the following steps:

Step 1: Click the “Accreditation Application” button. Log in with the same email address and password as your existing SCTP account.

Step 2: Ensure your profile and information on your tax experience are updated. Attach the supporting documents to reflect your latest qualifications (i.e. certified true copies of recognised examination qualifications).

Enter your email address and click ‘Sign In’ without keying in any password. An email will be sent to you at the email address you had previously provided SCTP with and in receipt of the weekly communique to members. Note: The above fees above are based on the prevailing 9% GST.

The annual subscription fee is payable on each specialisation selected. Applicants applying for the Income Tax OR GST specialisation will pay the annual subscription fee applicable to their designation. Applicants applying for both the Income Tax AND GST specialisations will need to pay twice the annual subscription fees stated above.

A person who is admitted on or after the first day of July in any year shall pay only half the subscription that is payable for a full year.

No. The admission fee of $218 (inclusive of 9% GST) is a one-time payment, regardless of the number of designations the tax professional signs up for. It is waived for any upgrades of accreditation.

Yes, the annual subscription fee is based on each specialisation. Please refer to the summary of payment for further information on the payments for the different designations and specialisations.

For renewal of membership, no receipt will be issued upon payment as an invoice had been issued earlier. Should you require an invoice with “Paid” indicated on it, please email enquiry@sctp.org.sg.

Depending on your approved application, you may use the following designatory titles:

Simply contact SCTP with your request. You may request for a complimentary letter of confirmation to reflect your accreditation.

For a reprint of the accreditation certificate, a $54.50 (inclusive of 9% GST) administration fee is required and the processing time is approximately two to three months.


Others

All accredited tax professionals receive a weekly email update comprising consolidated succinct information on an array of initiatives specially curated for members. Information include upcoming technical sessions, relevant exclusive deals and promotions on a wide range of programmes, publications and online resources, as well as first-hand information on tax developments by the tax authority or other government agencies.

To be reflected in SCTP’s directory of members, please log in to your online account via the ‘Log in’ button on the top right-hand corner of SCTP’s website.

Once you are in your profile page, please choose ‘Yes’ for the statement ‘I would like to be listed in the SCTP’s Members’ Directory' and click the button at the bottom of the page to update your profile. Your name will automatically be added to the directory after a few minutes. You may need to clear your cache to view the updated list.
