Programme Synopsis

Learn key updates from the 8th Edition of the Singapore TP Guidelines, insights on their impact, and how to navigate TP requirements.
IRAS continues to strengthen its focus on transfer pricing (TP) compliance in Singapore. In November, IRAS released the 8th Edition of the Singapore Transfer Pricing Guidelines (STPG), introducing enhanced expectations around documentation quality, intercompany financing, Permanent Establishments (PEs), and overall compliance requirements.

Join RSM Singapore as they share key updates from the 8th Edition of the STPG, provide practical insights on their implications, and discuss how businesses can navigate TP requirements with confidence. The session will also cover important considerations relating to permanent establishments and withholding tax, and highlight our TP and international tax practices.

Joanna has extensive experience providing Transfer Pricing (TP) advisory services to clients, including MNCs and listed companies. She helps to review and provide tax efficient and compliant operational models, guiding start-up businesses to implement and manage their TP models across countries.  

She also leads TP controversies and dispute resolutions, assisting companies to devise an overall strategies, including liaising with tax authorities to resolve disputes. She is also experienced with advance pricing agreements (APA), both unilateral and bilateral, and was one of the core engagement team members for China’s first-ever BAPA.

Joanna assists clients in TP compliance engagements - preparation of TP Master Files, Local Files and Country-by-Country Reporting reports.

She advises clients from a wide range of industries including, consumer products, life sciences, logistics, shipping, manufacturing, real estate, and technology, media and telecommunication.

Prior to joining the Firm in 2020, she was with two Big 4 firms in Hong Kong and China for more than 20 years.

Ms Alice Chan

Alice has over 20 years of professional experience in external audit and taxation services, having worked with various professional accounting firms, including Big 4 firms in Malaysia and Singapore.

She has assisted clients in managing tax compliance matters, including responding to tax audits, applying tax rulings and resolving disputes with tax authorities. Additionally, she has advised clients on cross-border transactions, business restructuring and mergers and acquisitions, including applications for stamp duty relief.

Throughout her career, Alice has worked with a diverse portfolio of clients across a wide range of industries, including infrastructures and logistics (shipping), energy and natural resources (including renewables), healthcare, commodity trading, technology and telecommunications, and consumer products (including manufacturing, retail and distribution). 

Prior to joining the Firm, Alice spent nearly 16 years practicing corporate taxation, both compliance and advisory, at two Big 4 firms in Singapore.

Ms Prerna Prakash Bathija

Prerna is a seasoned transfer pricing professional with over 13 years of extensive experience in accounting and tax firms across the Asia-Pacific region. She has provided strategic advice to multinational enterprises (MNEs) and small to medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) on the intricacies of transfer pricing policy formulation and implementation. 

Prerna has managed various transfer pricing compliance projects encompassing global, regional, and local documentation, and has been involved in core advisory projects involving strategic policy planning and modelling. Additionally, she has successfully represented clients before tax authorities in India.

Throughout her career, Prerna has worked with a diverse portfolio of clients, spanning across commodity trading, shipping, technology, professional services and consumer products (including manufacturing, retail, and distribution).

Prior to joining the Firm, she made significant contributions to transfer pricing teams within the BDO network in Singapore and India. Prerna’s career also includes a notable 3-year stint focused on international and corporate taxation.ctices for TP planning and compliance in Singapore
