Mr Irvin SeahExecutive Director, Group Research

Irvin Seah is the Executive Director for Economics and Currency Research at DBS Bank in Singapore. He joined DBS in 2006 and he is currently in charge of the macroeconomic coverage of Singapore and ASEAN economies. Apart from supporting the bank’s investment strategies and advising DBS clients on macroeconomic issues, his opinions are often featured in the media. Irvin is also the Chairman for the Research Sub-Committee within the Singapore Business Federation (SBF), as well as a committee member for the Singapore Chinese Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCCI).
Mr Seah began his career in the Singapore Ministry of Trade and Industry, as a government economist under the Economist Service Scheme. In his career with the Ministry, Mr Seah was deeply involved in a wide range of government policies, including the restructuring of the Singapore economy under the Economic Review Committee (ERC), 2001-3003. Irvin was also a trade economist as well as a trade negotiator for the Singapore government. Beside economics and trade policy research, he was also involved in the WTO and several FTA negotiations.
Fluent in Mandarin, Irvin holds a Master of Business (Applied Economics) degree from the Nanyang Technological University, Singapore.
Mr Tan Tay LekPartner, Tax

Mr. Tan Tay Lek is a Partner with the corporate tax advisory practice of PwC Singapore with multiple years of tax experience.
In his career, Tay Lek has been involved in a number of complex tax consulting projects including negotiations for tax incentive packages and land allocation, tax due diligence reviews and advising on complex transactions such as securitisation transactions, leasing, derivatives and debt securities offerings. Tay Lek advises clients from both the corporate and financial services sectors. Prior to joining, he is also the lead partner in the firm advising clients on stamp duty.
At PwC, Tay Lek spent time in an in-house tax role for a US MNC where he learnt the intricacies of turning tax advice into solutions that worked. He was responsible for implementation of the group’s tax strategies in the Asia Pacific region with the overall goal of minimising tax costs, optimising cash flows, anticipating adverse issues and mitigating their potential impact.

Mr. Tan Teck Leng joined UBS Singapore as a FX Strategist in 2010, with a primary focus on Asian currencies. Prior to this, Teck Leng started his career at the Government of Singapore Investment Corporation in the Fixed Income Department, as a Market Risk & Operations analyst. He also worked at the Bank of Tokyo Mitsubishi UFJ in the FX sales team, advising corporate clients on FX hedging strategies. Prior to joining UBS, he worked at HSBC Singapore as a currency specialist, advising mass-affluent clients on FX investments.
Teck Leng appears regularly on global TV media (CNBC, Bloomberg), and is also quoted in regional & local print media. Teck Leng contributes monthly articles to Hong Kong Economic Times and China Business News.
Teck Leng holds an Honours degree (First Class) in Banking & Finance from the Nanyang Technological University in Singapore. He also holds the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation.
Ms Lee Wen ChingDirector, Equity Analyst

Ms. Lee Wen Ching joined UBS Singapore as a Singapore equity analyst in July 2013, focusing primarily on Singapore-listed equities. She was previously a sell-side equity analyst with CIMB and OCBC. Wen Ching has won several personal accolades such as the StarMine best stock picker and best earnings estimator awards.
Prior to her career in equities research, Wen Ching worked with the Singapore Exchange. Wen Ching is responsible for running the Singapore equity preference list as well as providing bottom-up research to the strategy team and providing thematic ideas.
Wen Ching is often interviewed by Channel News Asia, and quoted on Reuters, Dow Jones, Bloomberg, Business Times Singapore, Straits Times, The Edge and various media publications in Singapore.
Wen Ching holds a bachelor's honours degree in Banking & Finance from the Nanyang Technological University in Singapore.
Ms Valerie ChanAnalyst, ASEAN macro

Ms. Valerie Chan is an Asia macro analyst at UBS Wealth Management’s Chief Investment Office. Her responsibilities include the coverage of South-East Asia economics as well as providing investment insights on Taiwan and Philippine equities.
Prior to joining UBS, Valerie was a sell-side research analyst covering Singapore small- and mid- cap equities. Valerie began her career as a Statistician from the Ministry of Trade and Industry.
Valerie holds a Bachelor’s degree in Economics from Nanyang Technological University in Singapore.
