Programme Synopsis

A multitude of developments have transpired across the GST landscape within the year thus far, including several changes announced in the Budget 2021. Of these, a new basis for determining whether zero-rating applies to a supply of media sales has been set out in the revised e-Tax Guide on “GST: Guide for the Advertising Industry” issued in June 2021, and takes effect from 1 January 2022.

Aside from the development on media sale, an expansion of the Overseas Vendor Registration (OVR) and Reverse Charge (RC) regimes is on the horizon. To ensure a level playing field for our local businesses to compete effectively, and to ensure that Singapore’s GST system remains fair and resilient as the digital economy grows, GST will be extended to goods imported via air or post that are valued up to (and including) the current GST import relief threshold of $400, as well as Business-to-Consumer imported non-digital services, from 1 January 2023.

To understand the impact of these updates on your businesses or clients, join us in this upcoming session presented by the Inland Revenue Authority of Singapore (IRAS). Enrich your expertise with direct insights from the tax authority and stay on top of your or your clients’ GST compliance requirements. Grasp this exclusive opportunity to have your queries answered and have your doubts clarified during the panel discussion!
