Richard Ong is a Partner at RSM Singapore, where he leads the firm’s advisory practice on GST and indirect tax matters across a broad range of industries including real estate & construction, funds and asset management, technology and platform businesses, aviation, financial institutions and logistics. 

Richard brings deep regulatory insight and practical experience to his role, having held tax positions at the Inland Revenue Authority of Singapore (IRAS), worked with a Big Four accounting firm, and served in industry roles, giving him a balanced perspective on compliance expectations and commercial realities. 

He is an Accredited Tax Advisor (GST) with the Singapore Chartered Tax Professionals Limited and holds a Bachelor of Business (Accountancy) from RMIT University in Australia. 

Richard is a recognised speaker at public seminars in Singapore and Malaysia, where he shares insights on topics such as GST audit focus areas, GST risk management, GST for SMEs, the GST Assisted Self-Help Kit (ASK) and broader indirect tax developments.
