Programme Synopsis

In today’s uncertain trade environment, customs duties and transfer pricing can no longer be managed separately. As authorities increase scrutiny of intercompany transactions, pricing decisions may create unintended customs, duty and tax risks across jurisdictions.

Join the team from PwC Singapore – Frank Debets, Asia Pacific Customs & Trade Leader and Tomas Varga, Partner, Transfer Pricing – for a highly interactive session as transfer pricing and customs valuation specialists examine where these two disciplines intersect, differ and occasionally collide.

Gain practical insights into managing intercompany pricing, documentation, price adjustments, royalties and service fees, while exploring the role of APAs, customs rulings and duty refund opportunities. Strengthen your understanding of this evolving landscape and learn how to navigate cross-border risks with greater confidence.

Programme Outline

  • Understand how transfer pricing and customs valuation rules interact and where common areas of conflict arise
  • Identify documentation strategies that can withstand scrutiny from both tax and customs authorities
  • Manage intercompany pricing adjustments without creating unintended duty costs, penalties or tax exposures
  • Address complex issues involving royalties, service charges and intangible assets in cross-border transactions
  • Leverage APAs, customs rulings and duty recovery mechanisms to strengthen compliance and reduce risk
